TripMap
One shared map a family fills in together as the trip happens.
A trip generates a mess: photographs on five phones, a restaurant someone swears was excellent, receipts, and a plan that changed on the second day. TripMap puts all of it on one map that everyone in the group writes to.
It runs as an installable web app rather than something from a store, because the people using it are on holiday and will not install anything. It has to keep working in a hotel basement, on airport wifi, and on whichever phone someone happens to be holding.
The engineering underneath — shared state between several users, photographs uploaded from bad connections, and a database that stays correct when two people edit the same day — is the same set of problems as a field service or logistics app. This one just happens to be about dinner.
What this one demonstrates
Offline-tolerant mobile web, shared multi-user state, and media handling at scale — the pattern behind any field or consumer app.
